What's the one thing you love most about your body? So many of us spend so much time focusing on our internal qualities & strengths, and on how we need to alter our our exteriors to be better, prettier, more worthy, etc. We're taught that it's not okay to take pride in our appearance - and then that we're not good enough for failing to fit into a very specific ideal of what makes someone beautiful. talk about mixed messages. I'm not trying to say that looks matter above all else, but rather that we are all beautiful in our own unique ways - inside & out - and that it's okay to celebrate all of that. I talk about how much I love my legs. A LOT. especially my calves and ‪#‎quadzilla‬ thighs. I've always taken pride in them, even when loving my whole body has been a huge challenge. But I don't think I've ever mentioned just how much I love my shoulders too. These shoulders have carried me through 11 years of competitive swimming. They press and pull and help to support me through countless inversions & chaturangas. They're broad and expansive - they take up space. And I love that because it shows just how much they've done & continue to do to support me through all of the movement and flowing and training and lifting I do. And for all of that, I am incredibly grateful. I hope that, even if it doesn't look or move or feel quite how you want it to, you'll take a moment today to give thanks to your body & all that it does for you too 💪🏼👊🏼✌🏼
